What’s going on?

It’s a new year with the same old crap.  This year the year started off with the public “shock” of yet another failed celeb marriage (Katy Perry) and the birth of Baby Jayonce.

Each day we are inundated about stories of celeb life. I for the life of me cannot figure out what is so important about celeb life. Basically they do the same things as everyone else as far as marriage, divorce and giving birth. I personally don’t give a rat’s butt about who is divorcing or has brought their fake pregnancy to an end (cough cough.  Jayonce- tell the surrogate I said “Congratulations!”) I ALWAYS have to ask myself what’s really going on.

Many times while we are so focused on the minuscule there is some world event going on. If it had not been for the diligent postings of many bloggers and top sites like Wikipedia going off line for a day the SOPA and PIPA acts could have been passed without the average American knowing. Rest assured that SOPA and PIPA’s being tabled is just a ploy. The gov. knew some people would be on top of things. This just means the next time we are to be robbed of our rights that they’ll have to do it more subtlety of dare I say it, they’ll persuade us to hands over our rights.

It’s not too far fetched that people will give up their rights. Their are many people willing to be implanted for “safety” reasons.

Welcome to reality!

I am sick of reality because quite frankly reality t.v. is so fake. As I sit here this morning watching Good Morning America I am sick of what people now deem as “realistic”

Fashion expert Carson Kressley showed us “everyday” women how we can afford to dress like stars. Problem is that the cheapest celeb look still costs $60.40.

$131.60 to get this look.

$131.60 to get this look.

While I believe everyone is entitled to spurge every once  in a while, I find it ridiculous how these fashion experts and t.v. shows act as though it is perfectly normally to drop $ 60- 160+ on one outfit and call it affordable. I understand that some people have tons of money and that those prices are affordable. However, for those who have families or are otherwise living on a limited budget it is unrealistic to have a t.v. show geared at “America” displaying outfits that cost that much; since the average American cannot afford to pay that much for an outfit.  I believe that this is by design.

$169.50 for this look.

$60.40 for this look.

Often times people get caught up with “Keeping up with the Jones.”  People become so obsessed with looking like they have money that they trade their financial security for it. Rather than shop (dare I say it) thrift or buy a few interchangeable staple pieces for their wardrobe, people spend money on multiple outfits. These same people often buy cars and homes they can’t afford.

NEWS FLASH!

THE PERSON YOU’RE SPENDING MONEY TO TRY TO IMPRESS IS LIKELY AS BROKE AS YOU ARE!!!!! YOU ARE BEING A FOOL TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH ANOTHER BROKE FOOL!!!!!!!

That was a news flash for those who needed to hear it. Stop trading financial security for looking like you got it. When it all falls down you have no one but yourself to blame.

Being the frugal person I am I could easily recreate these celebrity looks of $10 or less. Between hitting up yard sales, thrift store, or having my mother sew me an outfit I could easily look like a million without spending it. The longer you drink the kool aid and trade financial security for looking like you’ve got it you’ll be a gerbil on a wheel; getting NOWHERE fast.  Meanwhile the rich keep getting richer off you. You buy their clothes, eat at their restaurant and pay high interest by keeping a balance on the credit card they issued you.

When you don’t allow your self worth to be intertwined with your net worth (or perceived net worth) you fare better. I can assure those who really have money didn’t get their by trying to look  rich.

Necromancy????? Necrophilia???????

Well where do I begin on a post like this. While one crazy Drake fan made headlines because she tattooed Drake across her forehead ( too bad their wasn’t room enough to also tattoo fool on there) Drake has gone and tattooed a picture of the late R and B singer Aaliyah on his back.

I was saddened when I learned of the passing of Aaliyah as she was very young and died in such a unexpected, tragic manner. I cannot understand for the life of me why Drake has such an obsession to this level. I understand fan is short for fanatic but I think that this is just d@mn crazy!

As far as I know Drake didn’t know Aaliyah personally. Why then would you go and tattoo the face of someone you don’t know from adam ‘s house cat on you? I think it is weird the way Drake makes posts using the late singer’s middle name as though they are old buddies such as:

“Dear Dana,
I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed.”

Really? I can say I was saddened and shocked like anyone else but writing a letter to the deceased seems weird esp. when you didn’t know the person.

Drake made the tweet ‘RIP Baby Girl.. in my ear at every show letting me know the next move I should make. Love you!

I respect Drake’s  love for Aaliyah but at what point is a person crossing the line? I am not going to say a deceased person is guiding my moves. It is well known that necromancy ( i.e. channeling of spirits) is familiar in Hollywood but it seems ole boy Drake done crossed over into necrophilia ( “love” for the dead).

Some people say they think it’s sweet- I say it’s crazy. Why make a cutting in your flesh for a dead person esp. when that person wasn’t anyone to you? I think Drakes “love” for Aaliyah is straight twisted.  I understand Bizzare (from D12) went and did some crazy mess and tattooed the face of Nicki Minaj on his arm. Not to be mean but there is at least a chance that he and Nicki could get together. Besides what the heck do you expect from someone who chose the stage name Bizzare.

Telling The Undisputed Truth

Well it finally happened. Afters years of commenting on other blogs and experimenting with website building I have finally decided to become the queen of my own blogdom.  I entitled this blog Telling The Undisputed Truth because it is a blog for truth seekers. I will not sugar coat anything. I do not expect my readers to sugar coat anything in their comments. I personally welcome other comments and understand we will sometimes agree to disagree. That being said. Welcome to my blog!

The truth will make you free. It may first make you miserable.
